5th Anniversary of the establishment
Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu Setagaya branch celebrated its 5th anniversary today.
5 years ago, I started this dojo as a official branch of Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu based on the certification by Kondo Katsuyuki Hombucho (currently Somucho). It is thanks to the support of everyone involved in the dojo that we have been able to reach this day. And I would like to express my sincere gratitude as the branch chief.
Over the past 5 years, the Setagaya branch has had 575 practice days, and the number of students has increased from zero to 47, and 11 black belts have been born. We have gradually expanded the number of practice days, times, and spaces, and this year we also opened a children’s class. During this time, it has not been smooth sailing, and there has been a lot of trial and error. We have been able to overcome each challenge one by one with the cooperation of all the students, including the pandemic, which was the biggest challenge that hit us right after our start.
When I started this dojo, I planed to get it on track in the first 10 years. I think we have somehow managed to build something like a foundation over the past 5 years. With the idea of ”Enrich lives with Budo” in mind, I would like to continue to work together with my students, steadily practicing, and building the dojo’s history.
Your continued support and cooperation would be highly appreciated.
