Happy New Year
This year is the Year of the “Uma” (Horse). In terms of the Ten Heavenly Stems and the Twelve Earthly Branches, it also falls in the Year of the “Hinoe-Uma”, which occurs once every 60 years. The Year of the “Hinoe-Uma” is said to be a year of growth and progress, overflowing with momentum and energy, as the combination of “Hinoe” meaning “yang” or “fire,” and “Uma” symbolizing a period of strong fire energy. On the other hand, because there is an overlap of “fire,” it is said that it is necessary to remain calm and not get carried away or act impulsively.
The Setagaya Branch values the accumulation of daily practice with our students, never content with the status quo and continuing to challenge ourselves with passion. At the same time, we aim to achieve further growth and progress by keeping our feet on the ground and drawing on past reflections and experiences.
“Enrich our life with Budo”
