Domestic Joint Practice 2022/Apponinted as “Kyoju-dairi”

Over the two days of November 19th (Sat) and 20th (Sun), the Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu Headquarters held the domestic joint practice camp and the dan promotion examination at Chuo-ku Sports Center in Tokyo.

More than 50 students from each branch in Japan participated in the direct instruction session by Kondo Masayuki Hombucho (Headquarters Director), the dan promotion examination and the lecture by Kondo Katsuyuki Somucho (General Affairs Director). As the result of the dan promotion examination, total 10 students were promoted to 4-dan, 3-dan and 2-dan. From the Setagaya branch mainly brown belt students also participated in this camp and gained great stimulation and learning through practices and exchanges with many students from other branches.

At the end of this camp, Kondo Katsuyuki Somucho made an announcement that I was approved to become the “Kyoju-dairi” of Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu. It is the official qualification of Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu that makes possible to teach outside of one’s own dojo. I am understanding the heavy responsibility of the “Kyoju-dairi” with a long tradition in the history of Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu, and in order to live up to the name of the ”Kyoju-dairi”, I will sincerely continue to devote myself to the future.
