The final practice in 2023 and Promotion Examination

Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu Setagaya branch held the kyu promotion examinations from December 17th to 24th, and had its final practice in 2023 on December 26th (Tue).

In the promotion examination, the basics (etiquette, posture, foot/body movement, ukemi, atemi), understanding, practice, effectiveness of Hiden-Mokuroku-Ikkajo techniques, and spirit, training trakrecord and improvement, etc. are evaluated at each kyu level. As a result of strict reviwing, a total of 10 students were promoted from 1-kyu to 6-kyu (excluding the exam that was postponed to January). Many examinees attempted all 30 techniques of Ikkajo, and a black belt students who were promoted this year participated for their uke, making the examination more tense and enthusiastic than ever.

With this, we could finish all practices and events of this year safely. I would like to express my deepest gratitude for the support and cooperation of my students and all related people. Next year, the Setagaya branch will celebrate its 5th anniversary. We will continue to take on challenges with the aim of developing the dojo, and will continue to practice step by step, faithful to the basics, with aspirations and passion.
