Recent Status of Daito-ryu Aikiiujutsu Setagaya Branch
At Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu Setagaya branch, although official practice is still suspended due to the spread of the new corona virus infection and the social response such as the declaration of emergency, the self training and study by each branch member continues. Recently, in addition to checking the technique that each of them have taken a video, I plan to start an online practice.
It is a constraint that we cannot practice by contacting, but instead, it is a unique opportunity to thoroughly practice the basics of such as how to stand, sit, walk, breathing and the form of each technique. This will be surely useful for the practice in the future.
In addition, at the Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu Headquarters, an online meeting was held recently by about 30 domestic and overseas branch chiefs under the leadership of Kondo Katsuyuki Sensei (Head) and Kondo Masayuki Sensei (Vice Head) to confirm the safety and status of each branch in each country. At the same time, we confirmed our will to overcome the current corona disaster and contribute to the recovery of the society through martial arts in after-corona.
We are faced with the difficulties of corona disaster, which we had never imagined a few months ago, but I think one of the meanings of our practice in martial arts is how we behave and how we live without losing sight of ourselves. We need to use this experience to create a better life and a better future.
There is no night when the morning does not come. And the dawn is coming soon.
Let’s do our best!
